Ann Pitts Turner was the founder and mentor of the Oklahoma State University women’s golf team. For 24 years, Ann’s teams not only won consistently, but she helped shape the lives of hundreds of young women. Under her leadership, Oklahoma State won 14 Big 8 Conference Championships in 21 years of competition. Oklahoma State also won a Big 12 Conference Championship with Ann as coach.

Ann received national acclaim as she twice won the Gladys Palmer Award for her outstanding contributions to college women’s golf.  Ann is also a member of the National Golf Coaches Association Coaches’ Hall of Fame.

During her career, Ann coached many outstanding players from the state of Oklahoma, including: Patty McGraw Coatney, Sheila Luginbuel Dills, Lew Erickson, Janice Burba Gibson, Natasha Rowe Gray, Janet Groene Miller and Amy Weeks.

Ann is a graduate of Oklahoma State with both a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in physical education.
